Thought I’d show some photos of a completed Cherry kitchen. My client called me back after she painted and decorated for a photo shoot. Came out ok. Ya, my design and labors.
Any one else want to show off?

Nice work Bob!
Interesting color scheme!
I can't decide whether I like it or not!
Cherry is THE nicest choice for cabinetry.

Yes I must say the color scheme surprised me. The client is a professional painter that has helped me a lot. When I agreed to build her cabinets she said to let her do all the finishing.
That was ok because I would have called her up and offered her the job anyway.
But I must say the red cielings and mustard walls with the dark red tiles looked fantastic.

Nice cabinetry layout and execution.
>Yes I must say the color scheme surprised me.
I like the colors on the wall. The only thing I didn't think worked as well is the red tile with the black and white floor....seemed like they were from different kitchens. The rest was all real purrrrrty.
I agree with Cloud, the floor is just not consistent with the cabinets and paint and the tiles. But I'm seeing a lot more of this particular color scheme, and while it's not "me," I do like it. It's very warm and inviting. Very spicy, and the cherry isn't overwhelmed.
I like all the kitchens I've seen here. I'd be thrilled and proud to work in any of them. Thanks for showing off."The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit." ~Nelson Henderson
Next time take the lens cap off the camera <G>.
The picture is a little too dark.

Excellent! How do they like the sink faucet?
They haven't complained!
If I remember correctly it is a genuine imitation pewter one (plastic).Mr T

Nice cabinets but how is that ceiling done?
Doug
Tell me about that ceiling.Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, Professionals built the Titanic.
Ceiling was existing we just had the dry waller patch some spots that needed it.
just a textured mud job, looks like it was done with a round brush.
Roll wet mud on with a thick nap roller and daub it into a pattern with the brush.Mr T

You guys are just going to force me to go out and get a digital camera to keep up with all of you. My Polaroid isn't keeping up with all this new-fangled gadgetry. BTW, everyones work looks great. I'd be proud to have my name on any of it.( wait a minute, how do I download pictures into my portfolio<G> )
Nice kitchen and wonderful work, Mr.T!!
Is that a granite counter?
Sort of makes my kitchen look absolutely shabby......
Island is granite, rest is corian,Mr T

I agree with Theodora.......These kitchens are awesome......Sort of makes you want to cook something!
That black and white floor is what I like to call a "Cleveland Heights floor"......We have that type of floor in our bathroom and many older homes here(hah, they're all old!) have that floor.....
here is a real fun one I did about a year ago...

Hey GB, that's no fair! I'd be embaraased to follow that - couldn't out brag that one..
Excellence is its own reward!

thanks Bob...
oh & that was
pretty funny!!
gb
well, I'd like to keep the thread going - I'm not proud; therefore everyone feel free to make fun - - here's a picture of my cherry cupboards - they are attached to a 1840's log cabin wall so the 'refined country primitive' look fits right in - the doors are salvage, the rest of the lumber was cut and milled from our woods - (poplar inside)
Hey, who's makin' fun? Looks nice, specialy in a log cabin!
that's a bonus I'll prolly never experience- using the wood that grew right there...
Hey, did someone ever tell you your work is great???
I think I did.
With work that good he'll die from fighting off the customers and the womens before he can spend all his money.
;).

yeah, ya did...thanks again...
& I think I've got the customers under control, & the womens, well I'm still waitin for the womens...
greg
What woman wouldn't want to put her truck and trustle into a trove like that?.

thanks teach- bunches
You're welcome......I have a small piece of your artistry on our mantel......
I do like the style and appearance of your cabinets - I'd say Shaker influenced, right? - - well done -
I gotta agre with Mr. T, the cabinets are beautiful, but what's with the maze yellow walls??
I don't understand! I cut it twice and it's still too short!
Bob,
You built the cabinets?
What stain did you use? I love cherry and your color is right in line with my tastes.
Secondly, it looks like your upper cabinets do not have the typical recess (space caused by the faceframe rail and a bottom which is flush with the top of the rail). Is this correct? Nice furniture look.
What under-cabinet lighting did you use?
Thanks
Yes I built the cabinets myself. This was a job I did for my painter, she did the finish herself. I'll try to get a hold of her and ask, post later. Probably a Benjamin Moore product though.
As to the construction, cherry faceframes with a cherry crown on top . On the bottom is an applied molding I made to allow for a deeper recess for the 3" puck lights. Doors all use a 110 degree cup hinge. Drawers are all dovetail assembly with full extension glides.

Did you mill your crown molding? Cherry moldings are hard to find stock or special order.
There's a great molding company here in Tulsa. Even though their cherry millwork is normally limited, I caught them when they were doing a special run for another client. Talked them into 50 foot of crown. Otherwise I was going to create some myself. I'm lazy in some ways, this was one of them. A choice of $120.00 or so, verses $40.00 material and about 2 hours labor, no brainer.
My most valuable asset is time. It's the hardest to control and the most finite of my resources.
Question- "How many Bob's does it take to roof a house?
One but you gotta slice him real thin".
Bob
Where and what is the name of the place in Tulsa, used to live there but my brother still does, cant find a place down here in Tx. that does custom stuff, I'm sure there here but I can get there just as easy.
Doug

Bob
Thanks for the link.
I used to work for a place like that in Iowa and now that I'm down here in Austin Tx, I am trying to find something like it here, has to be a place like it.
I have a good paying job but not as rewarding as doing the high end work.
Doug
Sweet cabinets! Amazing work.
Thanks, I couldn't have done it without a motherload of tools. And a wife that understands my addiction.
My ex wife was ok but her model wasn't programmed for the high end software like the new wife.
I now can run programs like "I Need Tools 2.0" by DeltaSoft or "Night Out With The Boys" 1.0. That was a tough one to load, needed a patch called "Ok But I get New Clothes 3.5".
I'm working on getting another program I heard about called "Bigger Tools are Better 9.0" but I hear I might have to upgrade my hard drive. Man I can barely keep my hard drive up with all these other programs running. Lol
Sorry it's late and I get bored when I'm not in the shop. Gotta go the wife wants to work on that upgrade.
Wow, Bob. I wish I could could use that patch. But I have the "I Need This Cool New Tool or Gadget 2.0" and my husband has the "How About This Awesome Wireless Technology 3.7"...
It's Gadget vs Gadget in our house. Except I need to get better at USING my gadgets so that I can sell the Result not the Process.
I think I'd have better luck that way.
Meanwhile, you KNOW how to use your gadgets already so she gets good results...
:)
