As a residential building contractor, sole proprietor, I am looking for advice, which I quite respect in the HVAC field. I have a 2 story colonial with hot water heat and no c. It is obvious that the lack of discussion that I can find on this type of system in this forum, leads me to believe that it is taboo? I am considering Unico, Spacepak and Soft air. There is quite a limit to space for the installation which leads me to this type of system. I am finding it hard to locate HVAC contractors that I feel are capable of installing the system as needed, especially in the second of the following 3 options. The 3 options, I believe are; 1 cool the second floor only from the attic above, 2 cool the whole house from one larger unit in the attic, and 3, 2 units, basement and attic. The ideal system I believe is the whole system in the attic, but many of the hvac contractors are leading me to believe that the horizontal runs on the flex duct will not work in the floor between the 1st and 2nd floor. There will be I bracing/bridging in the way, but I will consider taking it out if necessary. Total house nonage is about 3-4 tons, 2 each floor. This is not a big project but any advice on the high velocity systems would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
