high efficiency furnace venting into crawlspace
i recently bought a house that has baseboard heating only, i am planning on installing a gas furnace in a bedroom closet. my question is can the exhaust and return vents be ran into the floor to the crawlspace below and then exit to outside air. (furnace above vents)

Ducts are OK
You can run ducts through the crawl space. You are not allowed to discharge vent gasses into the crawl space.
Since most crawl spaces have minimal venting, you'll probably need to make new openings in the stem wall for your ducts.
IS the furnace designed for 'down' venting? Most are not.
the plan is to run the pvc pipes through the floor into the crawlspace and will then run to the out side of the building under the porch. not sure about the downventing, will have to check.
Note that the PVC must be sloped to drain back to the furnace or to the outside, with no low spots in the middle. And if you are down-venting then everything would have to slope to the outside.
And if you lived in truly cold country you'd have to make allowances for ice forming at the output of the pipe. (But it sounds like you're not in such a situation.)
