Has anybody else tried these new sanding discs (5″) that are made of X weight paper (like a belt sander)? I tried some and I love ’em, it seems like you can’t wear them out if you try. I get 3 days of use out each one and they sand real flat , almost like a R.O. belt sander.

I use the Norton Blue paper on one of my machines. 6" discs, hook and loop. I have access to pretty good pricing. 0.80c ea. for 36 grit, 0.60c for 100 grit.Ditch
how much??
buck and a half if you buy over 5
I use the blue alumnium zirconia to sharpen my edge tools. Lasts forever. Have you been able to find anything finer than 120 grit? That's the finest I've been able to find.
nope they only go to 120
thanks allen
Is "high zoot" one of those phrases you have to watch television to understand?
thats a phrase used buy dirt bikers in the 70's to describe a new gee wiz development in dirt bikes but I think it could have been a surfer term also, far out eh? ;)
Cool! I used to hang out with some of those dirt bike guys. Not enough, I guess.
How coarse are these? We have had the experience of using VERY coarse sandpaper on orbitals only to later have to remove wandering scratches from loose large aggregate (from the paper). So we found in the end we were better off to spend more time with a finer grit.
I think they go from 60 to 120 grit, its so aggresive I use 100 where I would normally use 80.
