Just yesterday I stopped at a flea market type arrangement where a few guys had set up some wares for sale in a parking lot. One guy had two Hilti TE 5 drills, one of them looked practically new, came with case and three or four bits (didn’t notice the condition) His asking price $100.
I didn’t buy the drill (just a wee bit weary of such a purchase at a source like this) but now I’m thinking maybe should have. I need a new hammer drill and I’ve used this model before and like it.
Anybody know what this goes for new so I can maybe kick myself harder in the rear end?

about $400. you missed a good tool
And a starter set of 6 bits from Hilti is about $130. The little animal is a winner. When you get done kicking yourself, check out ebay. There's always pages and pages of Hilti stuff over there.

If it's cold where you are they probably would be nice to heat up the jobsite. nudge nudge wink wink Rik ; )
You did good. A deal like that is too good to be true.
Uhhhummm... I didn't do good. I walked away without the tool, it was a few hours later that I started to think I messed up.
I'm leary of buying used tools out of the back van.

That's why Gunner said ya done good. A deal that sweet had a good chance of being stolen goods.
so, Ya done good.

That's exactly what I meant.
my biggest problem with buying like that irregardless of the tool itself, is , is it stolen, maybe from the other contractor beside you at the lumber yard. If you buy it you may be supporting an economy that shouldnt be supported.
and if it is stolen in Canada you can be charged with possession of stolen goods and you will certainly lose it.
we ve all had tools stolen at some time i'm sure, remember how YOU felt?
what rw said. i got mine at ebay -buy it now- from a pawnshop for 235 with 6 bits.the te5 is a great hammer drill for 3/16 to 7/8" holes. lite, smooth, fast. good luck.
