Hi, I am doing a 12 ft Gazebo, and am leaning twards asphalt, as it is a north side, and lots of shade, vs wood roof. I noted at the depot they sell a std shingle (arch. style) then they sell a special hip and ridge shingle. This sounds like what I should use to cap all 8 ridhges from Gazebo section/ abgle changes. Am I nuts , just use a std, or ids this the easier way? thank to all. Dave

The hip and ridge accessory is thicker. It might look better on that small of a roof to use 3 tabs for hip caps. The extra bulk will be a problem where all the hips converge.
