putting together some figures for a 1100 sf addition,i’d like to frame it myself, but i think the time factor may dictate hiring the framing done. pretty simple three wall addition except for it will have a 12/12 pitch, what kinda labor cost am i looking at? do you think i,d save much by doing the floor and having it ready to go from there,or would most framers prefer i get out of their way and let them take it from the foundation to roof? thanks for ideas. larry

probably depends on the specific framer....
and how busy he is...
but I'd guess most would "prefer" the whole job.
doesn't mean I don't think someone would jmp in and go from where ya left them....
as long as your work is as good as theirs....
I bid such things as myself doing the full job......usually I'm slower and more expensive than the subs.....
so that helps make sure I'm covering they're cost ....and I'm covered in the event I end up doing it myself.
I also try to get a good firm ballpark if possible before presenting the final numbers...
I have no idea what it'd cost ya...I'm pretty sure I don't live next door...and pretty sure I don;t know your framer....so I can't guess from here ....never seen the place.....and "pretty simple 3 wall addition" can mean a million different things.
Figure it out local....that's the only way you'll know.
Or use a cost book and add about 15-20% ...remodeling always cost more.
