   I have the older version, only gripe is no lockdown on mitre angle.  Otherwise grat saw for $99 which is what I paid for mine at HD when they were closing them out 10 yrs ago.

   For those who have fought for it Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

   I bought this saw at Lowes about 6 months ago when they were marked down to $99, mainly for its light weight. (I have a 10" SCMS that's a bear to move, at least for me.) I'm pleased with the Hitachi so far.

   I have two quibbles:
   (1) it has a poor setup for dust collection, and
   (2) the bolt holes for attaching the saw to a stand form a trapezoid rather than a rectangle.

   IMO, this saw is hard to beat at this price if you need a basic 10" miter saw.

   When I attach the brackets for my miter saw stand to the saw, the brackets are not perpendicular to the stand rails. They still go on the rails, but only after some fiddling. Again, not a major problem, just a quibble.

   Bot it.  I was looking for something I could leave in my van.  I can leave my 8.5" hitachi slider at home.

   I get the DEAL OF THE DAY each day sent to me and that happens a lot. You just need to keep clicking the item description and most if the time it'll bring you to the real item..

   BTW...I've seen this deal in other places besides Amazon for more then just a day.
