Hitachi C12FDH Doble Compound Miter
Does anyone ahve one of these.
Lowes has it for $189 through 9/12 (Contractors Appreciation days).
For my purposes the 12″ double compound seem to be the best option. Max cutting capacity without going to the sliding miters. And (even not when on the this special) much less cost than the sliders, lighter, and less “floor” space.
It does have less capacity than some of it’s competitors.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.

Chopping is hard on blades and sometimes materials. Give up the little extra space, spend the money and get a top of the line slider. You won't regret it. You will seldom find any size or cut limitations but you will find many with a chop only.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Well considering that all of the miter that I have done has been with a little plastic miter box and with the $350-400 difference in price to that of a slider I can get an inexpesnice stand for the miter, and a buy Dino's basic setup and a saw for wider cuts and breaking down plywood..

Just bought one a few weeks back and have been happy with it. I'd be even more happy with it for $189. I wasn't ready to spend the money on a slider at the time, so I got this one.
Going from single bevel to double bevel has been great.
