I’m a framer in beautiful B.C. , just wanted to know if anyone was having the same problem as me with the Hitachi n83a coil nailer. I’ve had nails shoot out sideways, is the feed mechanism doesn’t push the nail far enough forward the nail gets a glancing blow that can shoot right at you. Just last week one of my guys was shot in the arm no fault of his own. The gun was cleaned and oiled but it was because the coil had a kink in it that retarded the flow of the nails. I’m wondering if anyone knows a solution to the problem eg a metal guard that could prevent this. The gun comes with that transparent plastic, but it doesn’t last long.

Buy spare transparent plastics.

why don't they make a better product so that you have to keep a supply of repair parts on hand...
Imerc, he obviouisly has a defective tool. I've owned a hitachi coil nailer for several years now and I have never shot anything out of the side.
He really ought to fix the tool.
