I’ve got an Hitachi 10″ SCMS that I would like to hook up to a Ridgid 12 gal vac. Does anyone have this set up with dust collection.
I thought this should be easy, but adding dust collection from my Makita 10″ saw to same vac was not so straight forward. Any good sites to find vac couplings, reducers, flexible hose? Thanks! Carl

I assume the difficulty is with the 2.5" to 1.25" conversion. If so, HD sells a Rigid conversion adapter. Then you need some 1.25" hose, which any vaccuum shop should sell.
Scott.
I use duct tape to attach a Ridgid vac to my 10" Hitachi slider, and I use an automatic switch from Sears to turn on the vac when I turn on the saw. The switch works well and and the duct tape works OK, but I haven't been able to find an exact adapter for the hose.

Look in the drywall section at HD and your find a vacuum kit for use with drywall sanding. $19.99 and has better hose and a few adaptors in the box.

Thanks! That just might work. Will try to hook up pocket hole jig, too. With what we pay for these tools, you'd think the manufacturer could at least provide a clearer path to dust collection.Carl
Do you have one of these?

Really nice when you don't have the cash to buy a FEIN setup.
That's what Sears sells only theirs is almost half the cost. Works fine. It's in the tool dept.
Yes. I've got the Sears model - works great.
