Hello,
I am a general contractor and finish carpenter. I have used my 8 1/2″ Hitachi C8FB2 since 1994 and it is still going.
I am interested in replacing it with either the 10″ or 12″ new Hitachi saws. Any feedback as to durability, reliability, etc., would be appreciated. I know Milwuakee has one as well, but it is new to the market and I don’t know how well it will hold up, as there are not any that have been working for years to verify.
Thanks!

Go to Amazon and read reviews.
Yes -thanks for the suggestion, and I did just that before asking in this forum. Many of the reviews on Amazon are from DIY people, or the reviews are from people who recently bought a saw. I am interested in longer term ownership and realibility of a chossen saw, and from the prospective of experienced professional builders.

I have the old style 8-1/4 and have used the old style 10". That ten is good, shoulda maybe bought it instead of the smaller.

I upgraded to Festool and enjoy the use. Way more money.

OK, it doesn't miter very well, but it does slide.
