I am in the process of remodeling a spare bedroom in our house that was built in 1960. As the room is down to the studs I figured I might as well bring some structrued cable into the room. As I am in a time crunch and don’t have the time to figure out the phone, data, and video cabling I am just going to install 3/4″ flexiable plastic conduit into the wall and run it up into my attic.
Here is my question, the OD of the conduit is 1″ in diameter. Will there be any integrity issues of the wall afer I drill the hole? I was thinking of “sistering” a 2 x 6 on top with a 1″ hole also drilled into it. Is this not neccessary or over kill?
Thanks!

No problem. I've seen top plates that look like swiss cheese above a panel box.
