Here’s some photos that I have of the home we built in Wash.
All cabs are alder with porcelain tile floors. Countertops are NevaMar Laminate with a self edge product made by Gemloc. Exterior still needs a little work like wrapping of the posts, etc.
House is 1777 sqft. Garage is 1924 sqft plus an add’l 280 sqft loft. 67′ water front

House looks good to me, but you could put a Chicken Shanty near some water like that and it would look good to me.
What body of water?
You mean this ...or where??
It's a smallish fresh water lake called Duck Lake. The city is Ocean Shores.. It is located on a small peninsula at the top of a bay on the Washington Coast. Our home is less than a mile from the ocean and about a block from the bay. Otters, beaver, geese in the lake. Lots of rats(deer).
Yes, I meant water fronts like yours. Some of the water is visabl;e in the first pics. thanks for the others.

Looks good, I like the cabinets. I'm getting ready to build alder cabs for our house, I think I'm going to go with a natural finish like yours.
Nice work

I like it! I like the light finishes and open rooms and I am a fan of neutral colors. The only mistake I see is you let DW make you put all those windows in the living room. How are you supposed to watch TV in your boxers now? DanT
" How are you supposed to watch TV in your boxers now?"Oh hell, just a pond and some ducks out there.....let em look!
I'd like to see some pics of the 1924 sq ft garage.
Very nice.
here's what I have available at this time. whish i had better shot
I'd say those are pretty good!
When the garage has more SQ Ft than the house you know somebody has their priorities in the 'right' order.

Holy Crackers! What a garage! How much did that speed sander set you back?I have a similar pressure pot as yours. Works really well, though there is a lot of overspray, even when using the modified Binks HVLPish gun. The true HVLP turbine units are more efficient but $$.Nice job on the house. How much did you do yourself? How long did it take? Nights and weekends or full time?Frankie>P<!---->font color=#61B2E0<!---->B<!---->/B<!---->/font<!---->—Hunter S. Thompson

Thanks for posting the garage photos; I was curious about that too ... more sq ft than the house. Congratulations on building a reasonably-sized home. How long did it take, and did you do most of the work yourself? (Sorry if you've already described all this in any previous threads.)
Did you frame up the entire house/garage at once, or did you start with the garage?
Sometimes a comfortable new-build looks very inviting to me ... after spending 25 years slaving away on five different old houses ... and always having to sell before I could finish and finally enjoy the results.
One suggestion regarding posting photos in the future. Could you rename the photos with more descriptive terms? Instead of DCSS348988.JPG, could you use something like "kitchencabs.jpg"? Most people don't, but when there's that many attachments on a single post, it really helps, I think.
Great work!
