   It's my understanding HD only gave out 20% coupons to employees and possibly contractors.  They stopped honoring them a little while ago.

    

   A ton of people seem to be selling these on Ebay with the promise that Lowes will still take them as a competitors coupon... caveat emptor.

   its our x-mas present. last year they had a coupon and had alot of problems with fakes especially the ones from  ebay. this year its like a store credit type card. i actually used mine last year at lowes to buy the bosch 1617 router because we didn't carry it. you are correct that they only give it to employee's, no contractors that i'm aware of unless the employee gave it to the contractor

   I'm interested, but is this transferable? Those little mag strips on credit cards hold a ton of information. (store location ,time,who it was given to,etc,etc)

   they don't track it. the christmas card with it says "Enclosed is a 20% off coupon for you to use personally or to share with a family member or friend."

   I usually just go in and ask if they give a 10% discount to x-hippies from the 60's. HD is still pretty stingy with their discounts though.

   The greeting card that came with the 20% off gift card specifically say to share it with family and friends.  That sure sounds transferrable.  HOWEVER, on the back of the gift card itself, it says that it's void if sold, copied or transferred.  Go figure.

   There really is no way for them to know if you've "given" it so someone else and it's valid at all Home Depot locations.  There is a time limit.  It ends 4/30/2007.

   Sandusky Ohio huh? Boy do I have stories about that place from about forty years ago...lol.Hitching across country I ended up there for about a month living with a buncha real nice biker people..and dating a doctors daughter..lol.

   even at 20% off i'd be hard pressed to find anything I considered a deal at HD.... unless it was already on clearance....    real nice christmas... 20% off something we have 100% markup on.... wow

   i just rethought it....   I'm going to need to purchase about 18 water heaters & pans pretty soon....  20% off would give me 10% off after sales tax...

   I used a 10% HD coupon several years ago and I was allowed to apply it to "up to $2,000 worth of merchandise". So the coupon saved me $200.I needed a lot of stuff and I went in and bought $2,000 worth of items for an investment house.I bought various things including: interior paint, brushes, nails, screws, light bulbs, pair of gloves, sandpaper, elect drill, kitchen stove, exterior paint, light fixtures, kitchen cabinet handles, trash bags, electrical outlets, kitchen sink,faucets for the sinks, dishwasher, plumbing & electrical parts for the dishwasher.I spent 3 hours at HD going up and down each and every aisle and had 2-3 carts full of various items.By the time I was done I was ready to put a gun to my head.It took the cashier 30 minutes to ring up everything. The people standing in line behind wanted to kill me.Ever hear that expression "if looks could kill".^^^^^^
