I bought a $350 Grohe faucet
went to local hi end plumbing store
they said we will have to order that.
i bought it online
I deal with several supply houses, and everyone of them beats the crap out of the depot's prices. Add the fact that you can call your salesperson and get correct answerers about your order (try that at the box), I cant understand giving the Depot a thought.
http://www.plumbingexpress.com I've never had a problem with them.
Good Luck rg
I know the depot will match any advertised price..but is it the same quality as a plumbing supply house..(Im talking home depot expo)..thanks
Ricky
Thanks for the plumbing express web site info.
In general it is the same quality. For an order that size a supply house should beat their prices. The supply house can usually beat depot prices for me but usually doesnt really deal with a lot of walk in customers.
Homey is doing well on the surface. Not sure they really are doing as well as it looks.
I know regular home depot has diff quality than plumbing stores
Really? How do you know that? To the extent that I've looked, the cat numbers and model #s are the same.

They sell seconds at times. I have physical documentation of that fact in my possession. I am talking about whirlpool tubs, etc.
The Kohler CI products usually wll rock on the countertop. The ones I get from the supply house NEVER do. I have often supplied owner supplied Kohler fixtures... they rocked due to being slightly warped... asked... and found out they come from Homey.
Also, the model numbers on Delta Faucets may be the same but the faucet isn't. Like the metal pop-up on a lav faucet. My supply house sells the faucet with a heavy machined brass assembly. Homey sells the same faucet with a THIN, stamped, metal assembly that I wold toss. The internal parts are often plastic instead of stainless steel or brass.
Everything I just mentioned is stuff I experienced and saw with my own eyes. I won't even get into the stories I hear because I have no idea if they are true or not.
Of course you will never convince a Homey lover that these things happen... they are too narrow minded. Not accusing you. Just stating the obvious.
edit to add: the catalog numbers for Delta products are NOT the same. There is a tiny difference. But it is there.
Now... WHEN you order SPECIAL ORDER Delta faucets, etc. you get the same thing a supply house sells. But I will beat their price to you and I will still make a profit. The guys in our local Homeys know better than to lie to customers about their product being the same. They have been educated and tested. I know. Because I made sure it happened. And I very nicely explained that it would not be in Homey's best interest to be investigated for consumer fraud. You see, when the whole story is known Homey is no threat to me as a plumber. It is only when they pass off their stuff as being the exact same thing as I sell from the supply house that I am at a competitive disadvantage.
I no longer fear Homey.

WHW - not challanging your info - experience trumps cat #s every time, and the seconds idea never occured to me but makes perfect sense.

Nothing personal on this end either. Have a great day!
