Have any of you run across any reasonably priced alternatives to the super leather recliners commonly used in home theaters. I haven’t actually priced any, but would guess I’ll spend $10k for 6 seats that route. I’m hoping one of you has run across a built in system that I could do myself, or find a reasonable sub contractor to build me some. Reclining and cupholders are nice, reclining may be negotiable.
Thanks for any input – Jack

Not sure what you mean by built in seating.
Berkline makes a line of home theatre seating. The one I saw on display was a sofa with 3 reclining seats. Each seat had an armrest with a cupholder in it. Obvioiusly the seats on the end had an armrest on the outside as well. The model I saw was of a very nice black leather. I know that they have single seat, loveseat, and sofa models.
I don't know what the price was but I can't imagine that even 2 of the 3 seat sofas would come close to $10k. Berkline, while a good company with great customer service (I know firsthand on that), is not one of the top tier lines and is therefore more affordable.
I guess you could buy 2 of the sofas and put one in front of the other; with the rear sofa up on a platform.
I have a reclining leather sofa from Berkline. It only has the two ends reclining. I have my subwoofer cranked up between the couch and middle non reclining section of the sofa. Crank up the movie, recline the couch with soda in hand, feel the subwoofer smacking your body with that deep bass during explosions...I'm in heaven.

Thang and Peter,
Thanks very much for the input. I had begun to believe that all of the theater seating was high end. These two companies will help out a lot, leaves a few more bucks for the sound system.
