Better still, the tax credit is refundable, which means the homebuyer can receive a check for the credit if he or she has little or no income tax liability. For example, if a first-time homebuyer is eligible for a tax credit of $8,000 but is liable for $4,000 in income tax, she can still receive a check for the remaining $4,000!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Is that correct? I hadn't realized that one.
So now he is going after the people who are still holding their homes for the last five years. If he's doing this why not prorate it to $5400 for 4 years; $4300 for 3 years; $3200 for two years; amd maybe $2100 for i year? Doesn't it help people like us, the 3 1/2 year homeowner?

Do I get anything?
"It is what it is."
my understanding is that the $6500 tax credit is for people who have owned their home for the last 5 years and are now buying(second time homeowners)
if , not, then my parents who have owned their house for 38 years would qualify
