*ROFCH (Rolling on the floor, chuckling mildly.)Of course, the whole thing was over a year ago.Pretty quick wit there And of course, that was obviously long eneough ago for you to forget that there were more of us horn beepers than there were of non-horn beepers, and Bush got in because the elecoral college favors rural areas over urban and suburban areas.Nobody ever accused the republicans of having good memories.A lot of them are starting to think that Reagan improved our economy!

        1. Bill_Hartmann | Dec 22, 2001 07:22pm | #4

*i Nobody ever accused the republicans of having good memories. I am not to sure that yours is any better.i And of course, that was obviously long eneough ago for you to forget that there were more of us horn beepers than there were of non-horn beepers...As I said that my memory is not much better, but are you sure that a sum of the all of the votes in the states that there where more votes for VERY ONE ELSE. Don't forget the 3rd party candidates. Also note that I did not use the term "popular vote" as there was no such things. Even ignoring the electrolal college there was no national vole. Each state had there own list of candidates and that list was different from state to state.

*It truly was all about the economy, wasn't it Bob?Now that we have uncovered the truth about Clinton's non-approach to combat terrorism (all for the blessed economy) is Slick Willy really still the best prez ever? Sure, I give him the economy boost, but if your pockets are full, yet you are still killed by a terrorist, does that really put you out on top?

          2. Tara_Gabriel | Dec 22, 2001 07:59pm | #6

*i Nobody ever accused the republicans of having good memories. Nobody has ever accused the Democrats of having good ethics.

          3. Ryan_C | Dec 22, 2001 09:14pm | #7

*Ouch. That wasn't as funny as the first one...oh yeah it was.

          4. Bob_Walker | Dec 22, 2001 10:00pm | #8

*Tara:"Clinton's non-approach to combat terrorism"Would you care to elaborate? If I recall, you spoke highly of the book "Black Hawk Down."Before you start spouting, I suggest you reread the Epilog, especially pages 415 et seq. That only addresses the Mogadishu, Somolia situation, but the discussion in the Epilogu can be applied to many of the situations that the Clinton haters rant about.BTW, I have never said CLinton was the best president; I'm not even convinced he was above average.I do take strong exception, however, to the radical right (e.g., Richard Mellon Scaife and the "American Spectator" and the cabal of Philadelphia lawyers who spearheaded so many of the Clinton attacks) who repeatedly attacked Clinton with a range of accusations for which, ultimately, no support was found.I believe those people to be traitors.

          5. Bob_Walker | Dec 22, 2001 10:02pm | #9

*Boy, that was a real zinger. Ouch. Cut me to the quick. Where's Ron when we really need him?I guess we'll have to add "sense of humor" to the list of missing Republican attributes.

          6. Dave_Riggs | Dec 22, 2001 10:13pm | #10

*Can't understand these posts. I wrote in Colin Powell's name for pres. Couldn't make up my mind between greed and arrogance so I just chose resume' instead.

          7. Ryan_C | Dec 22, 2001 10:42pm | #11

*All of these republican vs. democrat posts are about pride in your favorite sports team. Fights start all the time at football games over who's team is better. Had nothing to do with the merits of either team. In fact, even the lunitic fringe on either side would agree in private that their own team is pretty disapointing. So Go George Bush, he's our man. If he can't do it no one can!!! Fight! Fight! Fight!

          8. Bob_Walker | Dec 23, 2001 12:37am | #12

            *Ryan,Good points!

          9. Luka_ | Dec 23, 2001 01:08am | #13

*This is why I said 'grow up' in another post. All I see is a bunch of kids coming to punches about whose hero is never wrong, and whose is a load of crap. Neither side is interested in facts, they are only interested in adhering to the us and them mentality. Someone always has to be wrong, and someone has to be right, and there ain't no way yer gonna tell me I'm wrong.Cut the wrong and right crap. There is wrong on both sides of the line. There is right on both sides. And there is roughly the same quotient of each, on either side of that line. To wave a flag about the other guy's preferred 'leader' doing something wrong is simply inviting a flag about the same behviour from your own leader. To go to battle over these flags, while denying that your own leader is just as bad as the other is pig-headed, foolish, and ignorant. It is childish in the extreme. The constant bickering, fighting, and verbal fisticuffs in this vein may be 'entertainment' for some, but anyone with any common sense at all can see what a detrimental effect it has on the community as a whole.

*Luka, you are my hero, one cool dude, you always manage to say it like it is.
