I just finished posting my resume on monster. I’m looking to relocate to a more thriving economy. Do any of you have any recommendations for Carpentry / remodeling job hot spots here on western side of the country. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Vegas and Phoenix are both hot (literally and figuratively...lol). Most of the new framing is done by "imported" labor at scandalously low rates, but there's a large amount of remodeling goin on now, since there's getting to be more old housing stock.
When I lived in Vegas, there was a big demand for trimwork. The "smart" buyers wouldn't pay the builder $15/LF for 4" crown- they'd do it through a sub after they moved in. Lots of builtins, crown, etc., and patio covers are big too.
Bear in mind that both areas require contractors to be licensed, bonded, insured, etc.

Well, from the consumer side of the house, I can tell you that the greater Sacramento area is nuts. Growth and return on investment for remodels are insane and getting a call back from any trade takes 2-3 weeks if the job isn't bigger than $15k.
There aren't enough skilled tradesmen up here.
It's fairly warm here as well ;)
Good luck!
