Just bought my first box of the new hotdipped nails for my Paslode.
Was wondering what the common consensus among the experienced here is, regarding the hotdipped nails for ACQ pressure treated wood.
After hearing all the horror stories regarding ACQ built deck/hardware do you think these nails are going to hold up to the intent they are supposedly designed.

If not, rest assured the lawyers will protect us from ourselves by sueing the snot out of everyone involved.
Lots of luck rez. WTB they don't fair well either...
Here fishy fishy....
Rez,
Does your box say something to the effect that they are approved for ACQ lumber? The paslode boxes we just got say they are for ACQ lumber.

Probably the same. Didn't look or see anything but the bright red ACQ star on there and it just got me thinking about all those threads.
My first impression is that this hot dipped is just a way to lengthen the time before it will eventually corrode.
Personally, I wouldn't put them in my deck.
Cheers
When in doubt, use stainless nails. Pass the extra cost onto the client. Hot dipped galv is still going to corrode....over time; but this should not be the case with stainless.
