Breaktime Classified– Thanks to a great bunch of interesting individuals, Breaktime has grown into a resourceful and entertaining forum. Whether discussing construction techniques or current events, Breaktimers have helped each other solve problems and gain insight while having a lot of fun. Courtesy and respect have been the underlying principles that make this board work. We ask that you continue to use the same consideration in the Classifieds. Following are a few additions to the house rules that we think will make Breaktime Classifieds successful.
1. Private use only/No commercial sales
The Classifieds are for private individuals to buy, sell and seek items. Businesses are asked not to post items for sale or to use the Classifieds to advertise. If we suspect such activity we will remove the post and may ban the poster from the board.
2. Tools and materials only
Please use your judgment when listing an item that’s not a building tool or material. For example, a book on framing is acceptable while one on Civil War history is not.
3. Begin posts with “for sale” or “wanted”
A simple matter of organization that will ease navigation.
4. Edit posts when items sell
Because there is no way for buyers or sellers to remove the initial post in a thread, we ask that you edit your post when it becomes invalid. This is simply housekeeping that will help people browsing for an item.
5. Limit the discussion
If you are not interested in buying or selling an item, we ask that you keep discussion in this folder to a minimum. An organized forum is a useful forum.
6. No links to other sales sites
Any post linking to an on-line sales site such as Ebay will be deleted.
7. The honor system
Although we’ll make an effort to ban dishonest participants in the Classifieds, we can’t promise to do so. Let the buyer (or seller) beware. It is up to buyers and sellers to make their own arrangements once a deal has been struck. The Taunton Press takes no responsibility for any part of any transaction that occurs through this forum.
