Quite a few of the Spanish revival homes in Southern California where I live have beautiful, simple, vertical plank doors. They were built in the 1920’s and have no exposed bracing or joinery and they were built in factories. Does anyone have any actual firsthand knowledge as to how these doors were constructed? My best guess involves side to side floating tennons, but I’m curious to know if they were done differently.
