Hi everybody,
I’ve got to lay about 1,000 sq. ft. of bamboo flooring in the next couple of weeks. Anybody have any general rules of thumb for estimating how many nails I will need?

Hello everyone,

JFink,
I too will be installing approx 1000 sq/ft of carbonized stand-woven bamboo (9/16") this weekend. Last week I installed approx 1000 sq/ft solid oak and I stapled them approx every 12-18 inches (Bostich 2" staples), and I intend to do the same with my bamboo. Staples are relatively cheap so in my mind the more the better!!
Hope that helps.
Justin,
Assuming 4" wide bamboo with nails at every 8-10" along the tongues, you should need about 5000 nails to do 1000 square feet.
