I’m finishing a house remodel and want to install 3/4 inch thick red oak strip hardwood floors. Two companies said they nail down the wood, then wait two weeks before finishing to acclimate the wood. Shouldn’t the wood be stored in the house before nailing/installation to properly acclimate it? Thanks.

-Yes, store inside as long as possible.
-Install when humidity is low ( like cold, wintery weather)
-If nailing to boarded sub-floor nail oak perpendicular to sub-floor.
Thanks for your reply. It confirmed my suspicion that some companies wanted to rush the installation at the expense of a good floor.
