Help! I would like to build a bay window seat. I just don’t know how.
Could someone please give me suggestions. I just want a basic version.
I don’t plan on using the space for storage underneath. My biggest concern
is on the wall side. I know I can build a small version of a wall for the
front. But on the back I’m not quite sure (it will be up against a fake brick wall). Thank you, Thank you, for any help! Barbara

I recently built a window seat in our kitchen, in a small area between 2 closets I couldn't figure out what to do with. I used plywood for the front and the lid, and stained it I cut a door in the top for storage. (You can't have too much storage, right?)
I covered the front edge of the plywood top with a small molding. I thought about dressing up the front of the thing with some sort of carving, but haven't gotten around to it.
I also added a light overhead, so the kids could sit there and read books.
*Just finished a window seat last week.Built a four door cabinet face frame for the front, used 3/4" birch faced ply for the top. Framed everything on nailers attached to the walls. The face and doors took a day to make but installation only took about four hours. Simple design. When I get the pics back, I'll post one.
