I did such a good job on the deck I built for a customer, they now want me to build a retaining wall. It will be two terraced walls, straight about 60 feet long. The first level will be 16″ high and the second will be 12″ high. I’ll be using precast concrete stones. Any idea about what to charge for something like this. Thanks

Whatever price you determine, don't forget to add in one visit to your chiropractor, or massusse. Good luck Jim J
Charge T&M (time + materials). You've never done it before, so you don't know enough about how long it'll take you to give even a decent ballpark. The client trusts you--do it straight and when you're finished, evaluate your own efficiency and adjust the billed hours accordingly. That's the 'tuition' you pay for learning on the job....
It's the honest way to go.

What, no free estimate? <G>
Considering it's the first job of its type he's gonna do, the free estimate'd be worth exactly what he charged for it....

you do mean 12 and 16 Inches?
I haven't read it yet but there is an article in JLC on these type walls. but it, I think, spends most of its time on taller walls.
The most important part is geting the base first layer in, which you will be doing two of.
also there are many different types of block so depending on availability, there may be a lot of choice
depending on distance and qty you may get charged for delivery (least as an HO that's what I found)
I've built two sets of stairs with them
hope you can get a machine in there
