How to clad King Post Truss on exterior covered deck??
Hello,
I have just built a covered deck attached to the back side of my house. At the outer gable end of the deck roof is a large King Post truss with diagonal struts. It is built out of sandwiched 2x lumber.
I need to clad/wrap the truss in black aluminum flashing but I’m unsure of how to get the intersections of the king post, diagonal struts and tie beam properly flashed so that water doesn’t get under the flashing at the intersections.
Is there a prescribed order in which to flash this type of truss? (specifically how to flash the intersections) If so, can someone send me a link? I’ve been googling for days and haven’t been able to find anything.
Thanks,
George
