What are y’all installing for faucets on the larger tubs? We are putting one in and its a biggun… 6×4 rough in
The inlaws have a big tub and it takes 20 minutes to fill. Ours is gonna double as a shower, so I’m plumbing for a shower and planning on something w/ at least 3/4″ lines, separately, to fill the tub.
Are there high output tub faucets? Nothing fancy or expensive, if possible.
I thought about a few standard valves behind the tile, nice handles, and a copper stubout somewhere up high, but don’t know if the inspector’d approve. My friend on the West coast mentioned some are dropping the water through a pipe in the ceiling? Now that I cannot picture.

Kohler - Grohe - Moen - Delta All make high out put tub fillers.
Yes you can use your valve & copper stub out idea. Tub fillers do not fall into flow restricting water saving rules like other faucets.
Rules for that set up stub out must be at least 1" above flood rim for an air gap.
Must have check valves to prevent cold & hot backfeeding each other I would use spring loaded checks - swing checks have a tendency to hammer the system when you shut the valve fast.
We have installed a chrome pipe out of the ceiling- looks like a clear glass rod all the way down to the tub when filling the tub.
This is a semi-hijack, sorry. Quick filling tubs reminds me of the time my friend was testing his plumbing and had the drain pipes filled to the tops of the vent stacks. Everything checked out, so he was releasing the water slowly through a cleanout into a bucket. I suggested getting the kids' wading pool that was about 4' across. We did and the water was trickling in. About that time his wife who had called us in for lunch several times came out one more time, angry, and said, "Lunch is getting cold! Are you coming to lunch or not!" He said, "Alright!" and totally removed the cleanout just as his 5 year-old daughter came in and stood on the other side of the pool. The gout of water shot across the pool and hit the the other side where she was standing and gave her quite a surprise! That pipe drained fast! Was really glad we had the pool there.
Then there was the time he took a bath in the new Jacuzzi and drained it through the living room ceiling because he forgot to hook up the drain.
Used 3/4" from Kohler for their 4x5 tub at 18" deep and when filling you had to stay in the room 'cause it filled so quick!
