A friend of mine just bought her first house and I am trying to help her get it fixed up. One of the windows needs the glass replaced. How do we identify the manufacturer?

First step is to closely examine the window, in particular edges which are only revealed when the window is open. Often there is a sticker or badge with window info.
I can see where there was once a sticker but it is no longer there. I will also take a closer look today to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Check any other windows of a similar design.
Go replace
glass replacement doesn't necessarily need the name of the manufacturer of the sash. A good glass shop will be able to make or order a replacement glass to replace the failed pc.
Ive often thought that no name on the product means embarrassment by the maker.
I've seen very few windows with badges on them. Sometimes the glass may have an etched manfacturer mark in on of the lower corners. But any glass shop should be able to replace the briken glass.
