How to remove an exterior outlet from a shared circuit

I have an exterior outlet I don’t need. It shares a circuit breaker with another outlet. Neither are GFCI, although I think the one outside on the side of the house is supposed to be.
I’d like to remove it but can’t find a good tutorial on how to separate and remove an outlet that shares a breaker.
I’ve installed new outlets before, but I want to make sure I’m understanding how to do this properly.
Thanks!

I would remove the recep (after turning breaker off); put a wire nut on the hot (black/red); tuck the wires back into the box and put a note into the box with the circuit breaker number on it; and put a blank plate (waterproof) on the box. Turn breaker back on.
