How to save energy and make it a livable place?

Hey friends, I would like to share my plans for improving my home and of course to make it a green space. In my home I have a spacious work area connected with a store room.Can i redesign and place any windows that promote natural lighting? My friend said that casement windows are the best option. Should I use fixed (spam link removed) or the movable one? Is there any other options that I can use?
