If you look there's a "Google
If you look there's a "Google custom search" bar near the top of this page (at least on the version I see under Firefox). But this hasn't worked in several years.
It's a little flaky, but the best approach is to go to a separate browser tab, start up Google and enter your search argument with -site(http://forums.finehomebuilding.com) following it.
