How to sell salvaged hardwood flooring from my recent remodel
I have about 400 square feet of random width/length hardwood flooring (quartersawn oak) that has little fake dowel holes on the ends of the wood. According to a friend who’s a hardwood flooring contractor, this floor is worth alot of money. Does anyone know the best way to unload it? I went to the local lumber vendor and a woman over hearing me describe the boards, needed some for her job. She selected 4 pieces of 6″ about 40″ and gave me 25 bucks. (I know, I got ripped off) I imagine it should be worth at least five dollars a lineal ft. Does anyone have any experience with reclaimed hardwood floors? Some of the boards are twelve feet long! Where is the best place to resell it?

Salvage worth
If someone needed this to finish a job or to make a repair-then maybe your price of 5 bucks a l.f. might be realistic. But, that wood wasn't 10 a sf when new. Getting 7 wasn't a rip-off. Storing this stuff isn't a picnic. And the closer you get to going below 200 sf, the less chance to unload the whole lot. Best of luck, things are worth what people will pay.
Best place to sell?-Never use it, but Craigs list I suppose. Perhaps a second hand bldg mtls store.
Yeah, if you can't sell it to the friend who's a hardwood flooring contractor then Craig's list is the obvious choice.
