How to straighten wood warped panels
I made some 3/8″ x 6″ 12″ panels of quarter sawn white oak that I intended to dado into the sides of a night stand. I found they now have a slight warp and would require a larger dado to fit them. I have tried puting a 10lb barbell plate and supporting them at the ends to straighten but it doesn’t seem to be working? Suggestions?

If all else fails.
Damp rag. Material and a way to clamp panels to a stiff flat frame. Lay out the rag (towel) flat in a bag or on visqueen. Place the clamped up mass in the bag or rap it up. Keep the rag out of direct contact with the panels.
Hope and/or pray and don’t rush it.
If it works, assemble the panel to the frame.
If it works come back and report, I’d be interested.
If you just want to un-warp just a bit to get the panel into the dado,
You might be able to use some c clamps, boards and shims to force it straight enough to get into the dado.
Of course this is your call, depending on how far from straight these panels are, and how beefy the part you plan to dado will be.
If you place the warped panels on something flat, how hard is it to push flat?
The curves can't be moved by hand. Very rigid. I have 35lbs of weight on one and am seeing gradual improvement. I didn't want to coat with water because then I would have to dry out and re-sand before using, and they could re-warp in the interim. With just a slight warp I might just plane thinner. The panels aren't really structural, just for decoration.
up above I didn’t mean coat with water. The damp rag was to just introduce “some” moisture.
By the way, will this panel “float” in that frame? Don’t want the panel to split as it dries.
if they are only slightly warped you can bevel the edges slightly to help them feed into the dado.
