How to temporarily cover below grade wood
I’m completely renovating a home and want to focus on completing the inside of the home before Canadian winter comes. In the spring I will regrade the property and address issues outside. I have a patio that is approx 2 inches too high, which I will remove and lower to ensure its below the grade in the spring.
I’m open to hear suggestions on how to temporarily address this so that I can keep focused on the inside. I fully realize one option is to address it right now but that will create a mess and investment in a patio that I don’t have time to address right now. Nor have we finalized the designs materials and budget.
I’m thinking of creating a 1″ deep trench below the concrete putting sock drainage tile and back filling with gravel for now so that any water will drain away. I was thinking of adding stick on adhesive to get me down past the board and into the drain tile. then cover with foam cladding which I will eventually add board and baton too in the spring.
I realize this is not the ideal way to address this but I simply need to focus on the inside and then address it in the spring. I want to protect the wood for the 6 months.
