I am looking at purchasing an AIRFLOW model 2500AK anybody familiar with that brand. Any pros or cons. Also why does the intake or exhaust have to be at least 3′ from a corner?. What is the maxium runs for intake and exhaust for I am limited on both as to where I can place them?.

Keeping HVAC systems within the conditioned enclosure can be tough without a basement; one option is to use plenum trusses for the roof, which offer a space for equipment and ductwork.

Never heard of them or that requirement. Maximum runs depend on size and layout as well as the static that the fans can deliver.
Thanks Tim, I pulled this information from their web site and it didn't seem to make sense why either.
One of the least expensive Energy Recovery Ventilators that we use or allow to be used in our jobs is Renewaire. The machines are simple and transfer both sensible (temperature) and latent (moisture) energy. They are not as effective as the systems based on a wheel, but the cost is more reasonable. The two smallest units, the EV-130 and the the EV-450 are suitable for a residence.
The international mechanical code will require only that the intake is located 10' away from any plumbing vent or mechanical vent/exhaust source. The exhaust from the unit, typically, is only restricted so as to "not be a nuisance", but is good to stay 10' from any operable window.
