I have a fair amout of experience with building, however, I’ve never installed a HRV unit. I realize their importance and definitly want to install one on my new house.
Is this something that a do – it – yourselfer can accomplish? I’ve installed in floor radiant heat systems before – so i have some experience.
Do any of you have or know of a good web source that explains installation concisely?
Also, any suggestions or insights as far as things to do or not to do with an HRV unit?
Thanks

Doesn't look too bad to me.
Up north,
Try to keep your pipe runs within the insulation envelope. You can build up a lot of condensation in a cold tube if you run it in the attic above the insulation even with insulation sleeves.
Avoid soft pipe or corrugated pipe. Too much friction.
Think hard about those pipe runs in the design stage. If they have to go up through walls, make sure there are no joists above or below those walls. Think about your other services and what takes priority over what (Plumbing drains #1) so as to reduce the conflicts.
Make certain your intakes and exhausts are separated enough and also far enough from other exhausts and intakes to not be a problem. And far enough off the ground so you won't be sucking in snow or bugs.
Leave easy access to the unit for removing the filters and heat exchanger.
Make sure there is somewhere to run a condensate drain to from the unit itself. That will probably be a 1/2" vinyl tube and it fits nicely inside an ABS dishwasher TY.
