Humidifier on attic heat pump
I’ve recently installed a second heating system; a heat pump with the air handler in the attic. Is there a way to add a humidifier to this setup? Here in Maryland, the temperature in the attic will get well below freezing during the heart of the winter.

Add an evaporative drip type and turn the water supply off (in a conditioned area) and drain the feed before the cold weather comes.
Tool Donations Sought
I'm matching tool donors to a church mission to Haiti - we're shipping a bus converted to a medical facility in (now it looks like) April and can fill it with clothes, tools and all sorts of stuff needed in that poorest of all countries. A few hand tools or power tools can provide a livelihood for an otherwise destitute family. Please email me if you have tools to donate.
Thanks to Jeff and David and Jim and Rich and Steven and Mark and Jason and Shep and Jen and Mike and Joe and Bill and Ken for their offers!
Several donations have arrived! Thanks and God bless!
Unfortunately, it's during the cold weather that I will need it to run.
Ahhh, dummy slap here!
Needed another cuppa before answering that one, I guess!

But a humidifier is needed most during the cold months, no?
I have two heat pump/air handlers, one in the basement, one in the attic. The basement A/H has a humidifier, the attic doesn't due to freezing concerns. The heat comes on in October and runs until April/may, and freezing temps are expected between November and April.
So, although this is Conn., the expected usage of a unit in his attic would be limited, in my opinion.
Better to go with portable units. That's what we did when the kids were young. Now we just say the heck with it and let the teenager's (looooong) showers steam the 2nd floor up.
I never met a tool I didn't like!
Build an insulated, air sealed room around the air handler, and plumb within the conditioned space. The insulated room is good practice anyway, preventing loss of conditioned air and minimizing the potential for depressurizing the rest of the house.
