i am building a slab on grade house. i am putting in hydronic in floor heating.
in my discussion with the electrician, he said i should put in electric in floor
heating mats. they are stapled down to the foam insulation. the same way that pex
would be stapled down, under the slab. it heats up the slab and the slab retains the
heat in the same way. with the same insulation , why not use electric mats?
there would be less maintenance of the system , because all you have is some thermostats.
he might have me sold on the electric system. i was going to use an electric boiler anyway,
so … my electric bill may be the same either way. ??
can they both be efficient?
