I am building on to my house and am using wooden I beams as joists for the 20′ span of the second floor. Are there any installation differences from wood joists? Thanks in advance

Yes, there is. You have to get the brand you are using and the installation guide with them and follow that exactly the way they show you. Ask your lumberyard and they will give this to you.
You might also try the manufacturer's web site.
