Well, we arrived home safe and sound, now my old Safari has a big sister.
Here is Dustin and I , he is a great guy. Was nice to meet another axe-muderer in real life.
Now the two side by side , man a 3500 is a big step up from a Safari. Gonna have to learn to account for a few extra feet here and there…LOL.
Oh yeah..Eddy has turned into a camera whore, he wants to be in every picture.View Image
Thanks Dustin, they make a nice pair…now I’ll have to paint the F350 Ford GMC Blue.

Nice legs. Do you date outside of your marriage?
Seriously. Looks good, glad you got a ride that's dependable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPONTneuaF4
Watch it now, the walls have eyes, ya know.
Dependable may be a reach..Big Blue is one yr newer than Little Blue, and has 292.600 miles. Little Blue only has 252.000. So far I only racked up 420 miles coming home ( about 80 MPH was a good comforting speed, and the speedo quits at 85 MPH, so at times I mighta been pushing 86 (G) )
I love em both, and neither really needs THAT much to keep one of them running at all times. If not, I got legs to walk with.
Fer certian a no frills work truck..I like it like that."you are dead a lot longer than you are alive"Noah Aaron MacKenzie, 1990.
I gotta admit.... I'm a little jealous. That van has mad character. Something about it I liked the first time Dustin posted a picture of it a couple years back. Hope it does good by ya.View Image
Brian, as soon as he posted that pic, I KNEW it was gonna be mine, I saw that same character thing you see. It just screams.
Just liike when I saw Little blue, I knew I was gonna own it. That was like 7 yrs ago, and still has a spot in my heart.
She runs like a champ. I hope we have a few good years together."you are dead a lot longer than you are alive"Noah Aaron MacKenzie, 1990.
You're not going to know what to do with all the extra space.
Glad you had a safe trip.

Good looking van. You will enjoy the 1 ton load capacity.Chuck Slive, work, build, ...better with wood
Oh yeah? Watch me! LOL.
I'll fill her in in no time, I am afraid. Blueprinting what/how I want to use all that space all the way home...like a clean slate to design whatever I dream up. COOL.
Good tip for driving out 70W. It was a good choice."you are dead a lot longer than you are alive"Noah Aaron MacKenzie, 1990.
Yer looking trim dude. View Image
Yeah, I'm down about 6 inches in the waste from last summer.
I'm going to miss that van. It was the first big purchase I made when I started out on my own. Made a lot of money with that ugly old thing. Glamorous

Well... yer perspective changes a bit when you actually get off yer azz and make it to a fest or two and meet some of these guys in person.... then you notice stuff like that. So........ we gonna see you in Canada this year?View Image

Well Duane your certainly no slave to fashion!
Nice score on the van and you'll be pleasently surprised to know that I have a package that will leave here on Wed. of this week headed for Kan-tuc-ee. I'm sure you never thought that day would come!
Doug
Well , If you spell it that way on the box..it'll never get here. LOL
Fashion? Hell no. I like the oldies better than high ins. and monthly payments, and recalls. Proven track record on this baby. Sure I lust after all new vans out there, but bought and paid for has a nice ring to it."you are dead a lot longer than you are alive"Noah Aaron MacKenzie, 1990.
Fashion
I wasnt talking about the van, hell that looks good. I was talking about YOU! :)
I spelled it right on the box so it should get there fine.
Doug
Oh....LMAO. Thats me alright. Duluth shorts and Duluth shirt. Pretty much live in Duluth clothes.
Good thing the camera adds 10lbs as they say in Hollywood, or you'd think I was skinny or something.
Can't hardly wait for the box, but now I'll be too covered up in projects to play with it till we slow down some...my lists, have sub-lists."you are dead a lot longer than you are alive"Noah Aaron MacKenzie, 1990.

No kiddin. The mechanic I use told me being a 1 ton frame, they were called around here, "P" vans. I thought Panel van frame, and was correct. They normally have duelly's and big boxes on them.I noticed that the 80's body was unique...I like it. Feels like it is 22 yrs old instead of 12...LOL Thats do-able.Took the supply house 3 trips to get the right shocks for it. They kept sending the guy out with little weenie shocks, when this van needs those big fat 2 1/2" diameter jobbies, with a 3/4 " bolt top and bottom.I love it, 3rd day driving to the job with it...gonna be just fine.
That one has about 93K on it now - true miles! I've had three '85s so far. First was a mini school bus, camperized -then a tool van. Threw a rod( you know how those school bus drivers are on equipment) at 185,000 milesMy next was a Ryder cube van. It got up to around 180,000 before the odometer quit three years before I parked it. She still runs, but would need a couple thou in brake and front end work to get inspectable again. She is the Yellow one in the background by the shop

Thanks, I will.I like the upswept headlights of that 2005 model!I have a problem when I bring all the stuff home at once. I have a trash trailer on one site and a 14' tool trailer that keeps moving job to job. Sometimes it comes home on the weekend, but the honeydew list jumps up and demands my attention when the tools are home...
Welcome to the Taunton University of Knowledge FHB Campus at Breaktime. where ... Excellence is its own reward!
You know, that's a reason for getting a trailer that I never thought of.
If all my tools are on the job, I can't do my projects at home.
But I think that would only work for a while. She's previously threatened to hire another carp if things didn't get done.
Let her. Then sit around in a lawn chair and critique the guy to death.

On the next to last page in FHB they have a short personal story. One that I will never forget is about a tile layer who's wife was after him for months (years) to finish their bathroom.Well he had an out of town job.Got back and the bathroom was done. His wife would not say anything about how it was done. The next week he went to his tile supplier and their, on the counter top, was a copy of the check that she wrote to one of his competitors to do the job..
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
That's dirty. But something my wife would do.

Oh yeah, even I , am needing a running board to climb in after working all day..that suckker is TALL.
Mine will get my ankle getting out when I am not expecting it, buit I need a running bd just like it for the white dumper. That one does set up high and kicks up mud too

I love getting out of my '98 Savana. I'm pretty tall (6"2"), so I just sort of turn, straighten my legs, and I'm standing.
I do sometime trip getting into it, especially when I'm tired. I try to make some kind of recovery so I don't look like a dork tripping uphill. But that doesn't work well either.
I actually find it easier to get in and out of my van than my wife's Merc. Sable.
get the full running board to help ward away the dreaded Chevy rocker rust ...

hey big guy - you been lifting?
anyway - nice score - hope it's as good to you as my high mileage unit - I only make about 2-3 truck payments a year to keep it running sweetly -

Ahhh. Just lifting scaffold/24' pics, ladders , copper, and tools. LOL.I just had the new shocks put on, makes a difference in handling for sure. Once I get her loaded up with tools, I think all will be sweeter.Hope your orchard is booming, my 'maters are looking real good, so far. But we have a pending seriousness of drought. I may be pumping from the spring fed pond for the gardens, when they restrict the usage of the city supplied water.
