Appraisal done August 29 this year, by Duckworth, Jacobs, Naiger, Swicegood & Trash.
Parcel 1 - 30+ acres including house $1.3M
Parcel 2 - 5+ acres $165 K

Give the lot size for Parcel 3 while you're at it please.DUM SPIRO SPERO: "While I breathe I hope"
I'll buy them all, will you take a check?
I have some money tied up in Nigeria right now. As soon as it gets back ...---I don't really think this is a good venue for getting a fair price on your properties.
Why not a good venue?
I know all 3 parcels , having lived and worked in the area.

GHR likes to post annoying and pointelss BS in threads. He never posts anything that's actually useful. Ignore him and maybe he'll go away.
Paying alimony is like feeding hay to a dead horse.
I know it a putz posting, but my step-daughter has land nearby for sale also so I found the info from Forrest useful.
If anyone reading the thread is interested, it is about 40 miles west from Asheville, in Jackson Co. I/we have two lots availble, but one is under almost contract, so call that out and the other is adjoining . Sylva, NC is the locale.

Sphere... I am local here in Hickory NC and might be interested in what you have... I will say up front that I am not looking for one of those "Hey I am just up from FL or down from NY" sucker buys. Me and the wife have been looking over by Waynesville for a while to build for ourself... If you still have it try dropping a line to [email protected] and we can continue this... I have some questions regarding size, views, facing, and such...
Good timing, email on the way from me ( spheramid) with my son in laws email addy, it is his and his wifes, he can fill you in.
Greens Creek Rd. Sylva. email on the way.

Good luck with that Nigeria venture - did you get in with the King-in-exile too? Nice guy, and pretty generous it seems.
Plus, I already got a good recommendation on a local Realtor here.

I'm sure it's not going to be his only venue. But, even if I'm not interested I appreciate him putting it out here for consideration of those who might be.

I think I saw that one in Biltmore Forest when my wife and I were shopping for a lot in May. Blue Ridge Pkwy in close prox behind?
What is the price now?
Use my email contact and get me details off the forum, please.
Parcel 1 - how about some details, if you're comfortable posting them.
If not, would you e-mail me something about price, taxes, setting, style of house etc.
Thanks...Pete
I need to get to the assessment we just had done. Parcel 1 and parcel 2 were bought by my grandparents before I-26 was built; it cut off the five acre piece. They lived downtown; it was always "the country" where we went for picnics. A local church is interested in the five acre parcel, but we haven't been able to agree on a price.
The lot is very heavily and completely wooded; the driveway comes of Glen Bridge Road; well graded 1/8 mile (steepish) gravel driveway; gate; concrete bridge / culvert over a creek.
When they both passed away, my mother and my uncle had a house built (I designed it, as a senior in HS) for a vacation cottage. House is about 32 feet square; cedar sided, screened porch along front. Downstairs is kitchen, pantry, laundry closet, dining area, den, full bath, bedroom; two closets.
Den has wood stove, sloped ceiling up to second level; open stair to balcony overlooking den (hey, it was the 80s!; second floor has 2 bedrooms with closets; shared bathroom.
HVAC about five years old, well and septic; alarm system; unbelievably well maintained - my mom or uncle never left without vacuuming.
The highest and best use of the property is a housing development - kinda' hate that, though.
I'll get a copy of that assessment and tax info tonight. May have some pix in the computer from last time there.

Sounds nice. My wife and I are looking to move next spring and we've just started looking around.
NC is one of the places we've talked about, along with a dozen others...Pete

I love that area. In fact, I go down the Blue Ridge Parkway several times a year and love going thru that part of Asheville. I envy you that you even own these properties. I wish I were that lucky. If I were I'd never sell them as long as I lived. Especially the Biltmore parcel.
