I want to break up a string of 8 lights to control each four independently. Ques on 20mp breaker.

can I do this running from the same power source? Also is it ok to use a 20amp breaker to power these? There is nothing else on the breaker

    Depends on the wattage of the lamps.  You'd want to stay below about 2000 watts total, on the 20A breaker.
