Hi all,
This is a follow up to a previous post regarding sagging ceiling in our 2nd floor 20′ spanned master bed room. We had 3 estimates and proposals. 2 were going to i-joists and the third proposed hem fir 2x10s. He said i-joists were not necessary. We happen to like this contractor and his estimate and get a good feeling/vibe from him. His adder for TGI floor joists is $600.
All contractors were aware they were to tie each roof rafter to a 2×10 header running the length of the house about 5′ from the front wall. That would be the only load on the ceiling.
Opinions on moving forward with the upgraded? I don’t want doubt the Contractor, but I feel for $600 it is a no brainer to go with the upgrade.

Could you find your other thread about the sagging ceiling and put a link here for reference.
Or
Unless you think it would be overloaded, put this question there. If I remember correctly, you had some detail and pics of the problem in that thread.
Thanks
