Hi Folks,
I am interested in purchasing Ikea faucets and sinks but I am not sure what kind of quality I will be getting. Their stuff is cheap and very stylish but my experience with previous Ikea products is mixed. Some items I’ve purchased have been great and very long-lasting while others (like their lamps) I’ve had to replace several times. I want to take advantage of their prices BUT I don’t want to have to replace a faucet six months down the road…
Any feedback?? Anything you’d recommend as an alternative to Ikea?
Thanks,
Spaceghost

Hey Ghost,
I bought their apron front sink for about 200 bucks last year, no complaints. I used their faucet with it and it's ok, but I plan on replacing it with a better faucet. There are only a few faucets that fit a single hole sink, at HD and Lowes anyway. Saw my sink being sold on ebay for 800 to 1000. Seller actually shipped it in the Ikea boxes no less.

Don't do it. Stick with quality brand name faucets. Look for ones with a ceramic disc cartridge for max durability. If you look hard enough, you can find good prices on quality faucets. Close outs, returned special orders, etc. I believe there is an article on this site that goes over what to look for in a quality faucet.
I think Ikea is mostly junk. Their furniture is mostly finger jointed pine, which is the same thing framing lumber is often made of. The only thing that I have seen there that I would be willing to trust is their closet systems.

Agree, only wnet inthe store here once because it was right across the street from worksite when it opened. Looked like all junk to me.
I look at the free section in craigslist everyday for 'finds'. There is an awful lot of IKEA entertainment centers that people want to unload.
I've got one of the Edsvik faucets in my cabin's kitchen.
It cost me $39, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was
heavy, solid metal, with the base precisely machined and
good quality rough connections. Mine hasn't been given
hard use, but so far I think I was a bargain.
Now, in my market Toto rules. They have the image of being
a premium quality plumbing manufacturer, and their prices
reflect that; however, for the equivalent item from Toto
I would have to pay $250 and end up with plated plastic
trim, handles, etc.
I have an Ikea kitchen sink, single bowl type that has been in use for about 2 years.
It was less than $100.
It's not cast iron, just porcelain but so far it's perfect.

I've used Ikea bathroom sinks and faucets and have had no problems whatsoever. They were inexpensive yet much more solid than comparably priced AS's., Delta's etc.
When we reovated our bathroom we used Ikea . The only broblem I see is that when the faucet goes bad there no replacement parts.
Sinks----- well no moving parts, so if you're nice to it, it can last.
Faucets----- moving parts, means you get what you pay for.
