Hi all,
I’ve only used this resource once before, in debating wooden gutters, and you were all so helpful, so here’s my next question. Has anyone ever installed Ikea kitchen cabinets? Or, better yet, seen how they’ve held up after a few years? We’d love to save some money on the kitchen remodel, but we’re really not sure if Ikea’s a good idea.
Thanks!

For a stable, flat, and squeak-free floor, you'll find that most new products are OSB.

The subject of Ikea cabinets has been discussed here before. My recollection is generally that most contractors did not care for them, and many homeowners did. For a more accurate survey, use the search function on the lower left of the screen. Good luck.

The advanced search is at the upper left. I never get much results from the lower one

I've been using only that lower search function. And missing a lot that I knew was here.
Next time it'll be the advanced search.
You probably won't get the same cheery reception you did about wood gutters.
They used Ikea kitchen cabs in the place next door to me. If plus or minus half an inch is OK with you, then Ikea will be adequate.

Not sure about Ikea, and perhaps this suggestion will be met with major dissaproval, but the Millspride (assemble yourself) cabinets at Home Depot are not so bad.
They have solid 3/4 carcasses, 3/4" shelves, metal drawer sides, and decent looking door styles - quite a few solid oak and maple varieties.
And, unlike just about any other cabinet line out there - they have a lifetime guarentee on them that's pretty much hassle free.
I've used them in my home as an economical alternative and would not hesitate to use them in a client's home if price was an object.
Here's a sample of their "Hartford" maple line in a laundry room I just finished for a client.
