Are you taking a job in the financial services sector?

That appears to be what financial services retirees are doing. You fill out U.S. Treasury Form #2871164-I to request your own personal island be provided at taxpayer expense.
<<retire to a tropical island....>>Yep, that ol' golden parachute -- got a good canopy, no surface wind, PLF into the warm sand, some honey waiting on the beach with nothing but a rum drink and a smile . . . yeah, right. <G>
dave... i'd love to help out... but i made a deal with my digger 20 years ago....

<<c'mon..... you gotta give us some more background>>Not much to it, really. Being the eternal optimist I figured I'd ride this one out, and I did. Right to the end. There just is not enough construction work to keep these machines busy enough to pay for themselves, so they need to go.I'll probably sell most of the construction stuff, actually. I've still got the truck (pretty nice little Freightliner with a big kitty under the hood and a 48' flat), so I can always run that and probably will. Got my authority for everywhere west of the Mississippi except for The People's Republic of Kalif***ya, and the eastern states south of Virginia. So I guess I'm a trucker now.Updated screen name to follow. <BG>
Sorry to hear it Catskinner...You may want to look into the "Uship" website. It's a place where transporters bid on deliveries. I paid about $2000 on there to have equipment moved 700 miles. Don't know if there's any money in that...
That's a good tip -- thank you!

we were just talking two days ago... he was listing all the excavation companies going out
the only reason he's still in business is all his old iron is paid for
he's been laid off for the last 3 months... comming back this week for one of my jobs... hoping we can keep rolling that stone up the hillMike Hussein Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
with the way Congress and the Feds are digging a big hole, you'd think excavators would be in high demand!

oh great (sarcasm). I have an old JD crawler I was gonna try to sell pretty soon. Seems I've been buying high and selling low lately. :(
<<Are you taking a job in the financial services sector?>>Now how did you know that? <G>Yep, got the golden parachute rigged up to a static line so I don't even need to think about what I'm doing.
Put em on ebay. If the reserve price is right, they'll sell.
