I have a Makita 12v about 2-3 yrs old. 9214? I forget. Anyway, I like it, but it’s getting old & worn. Both original batteries have died and i bought one new one, but at $75 they’re not cheap. It’s been making funny sounds for several months.
DW asked what i want for Christmas. After I told her what i really want, and she slapped me, I thought about a new impact driver. I’m not partial to one brand. the Mac has been good. I don’t want anything from China, so i think that leaves out Hitachi.

I have the 2005 Makita and I do love it--
Was at the 7corners show and grabbed the Panasonic for a test spin and I must say--it was nice--
But--unless you want to buy my Makita and I win the Panasonic I am perfectly happy ----
Put a shout out to Dinosaur and see how the Bosch is treating him.

if ya don't want anything from China, why did you get the Mak?
anyway, what are the rest of your cordless tools?
if not, tell her to give ya a kit!
I saw bosch was giving away a 12v impact with their 5pc kit somewhere, and they are supposed to be coming out with an 18v impact if you already have their 18v kit.
least that is what the Bosch rep told me at JLC
panasonic. I have the same Mak as you and wish I had gone for the better one. You don't need any bigger than a 12 v .
