Moving up to an impact driver from a standard drill has brought a problem to light- The cheaper driver bits do not last under the increased torque producd by the impact driver.
What brand bits have held up for you guys? I’m very quickly running through the cheapie bits here!

GRK torx bits seem to last well with the impact driver and the color coding of the different sizes is swell.
McFeeley's square drive bits last well too.
dewalt has a new set for impacts out there...

those new dewalts are great
I used to go through maybe 10 bits a week with my impact and then I picked up some of those when my tool store first got them in a few months ago and I think I have broken maybe two.
I experienced the same thing. I was going through 2 bits a day, I couldn't believe that from all the articles I have read about impact drivers I never saw anything about how they eat up bits. I asked my supplier about it and he said I probably needed better bits but when I asked him how a person could tell a "better bit", he couldn't answer.
Another problem I had with a cheaper impact driver (now returned) was that the impact mechanism would create a burr on the bit and I needed pliers to get the bit out of the chuck/collet. What a pain standing on a ladder.
I never read anything about that either.

Another vote for the GRK torx bits.
I use Bosch Titanium (TIN) for Phillips screws.
Have not seen the new DeWalt impacts mentioned - will probably show up soon locally.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
I find that I don't go through that many bits when I use the impact. I seam to go throught the most when my apprentic grabs it and preceeds to round off the bits.
Can't debate that.
How do you say --- "operator error."

Lowes has the new set of impact driver bits for $29.47. You get a lot of bits and adaptors as well as 4 impact sockets. The only draw back is there is no square drive bit included.
They do give you a socket adaptor, an extension, as well as a new extension that has the ability to angel itsself for tight spots. You just pull the connector up just like those quick change drill bit/screw bit adaptors.
Its really nice. I bought the 18v dewalt impact and was chewing the heck out of bits. These according to the dewalt sales rep are built just for the impact wrench.
Thanks

I've tried the McFeely's bits someone else posted - they've worked well.
